Sautéed Corn with Onions and Peppers


Sauteed Corn with Onions and Peppers is the perfect side dish for when you want something a little different but don't have a lot of time.


Recipes like this one are staples in my kitchen. Recipes that I can easily substitute ingredients and still have a delicious meal that won't take very long to make.

I normally use frozen corn to make this but this time I only had canned. I also used some frozen onion and pepper blend but you can always use fresh onion and bell pepper.

How to Make Sauteed Corn with Onions and Peppers   

Ingredients:
  • Frozen or canned corn
  • Sliced onion and bell pepper
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic
Equipment:
  • Skillet
  • Knife
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Can opener if using canned corn
  • Measuring cup
Directions:
  • Melt the butter in a large skillet
  • Add the onions and peppers and cook for 3 minutes or until beginning  to soften
  • Add garlic and cook for another minute or two
  • Opened and drain the corn if using canned
  • Add the corn to the skillet and cook for another five minutes or until heated through
  • Season to taste with salt and pepper

Sauteed Corn with Onions and Peppers

Sautéed Corn with Onions and Peppers is a great side dish for nights when you don't have a lot of time but want something more than plain corn.

Ingredients:
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sliced onions and peppers fresh or frozen
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic, approximately 3 cloves
  • 3 cups corn, frozen or well drained canned
  • Salt to taste
  • Black Pepper to taste
Instructions:
  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over moderate heat
  2. Add the onions and peppers and cook for 2-3 minutes or until starting to soften
  3. Add the garlic and cook for another 2 minutes or so
  4. Add the corn to the vegetables and cook for 5-10 minutes or until the corn is heated through and all the vegetables are tender
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste
