This is actually a variation of another recipe that I make. One night I didn't have all the necessary ingredients and improvised with the base idea of the first recipe and made something I think we like even better.
The ingredient list for the recipe is a little unusual but it definitely works to make a tasty dinner.
How To Make Sweet and Tangy Skillet Chicken:
Ingredients:
- Chicken tenders or chicken breast cut into strips
- Zesty Italian dressing
- Pineapple juice
- Garlic powder
- Red chili flakes
Equipment:
- Food storage bag or container with lid
- Small mixing bowl
- Measuring cup
- Measuring spoon
- Mixing spoon
- Large skillet with a lid
Directions:
- Place chicken in the bowl or bag
- Mix the dressing, juice, brown sugar, garlic powder, and red chili flakes in a small bowl
- Pour the marinade over the chicken and refrigerate for the best flavor
- Cook in the large skillet until cooked through and the sauce has thickened

Ingredients:
- 1to 1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders
- 1/2 cup zesty Italian dressing
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili flakes
Instructions:
- Place the chicken in a storage bag or container with a lid
- Mix together the Italian dressing, pineapple juice, brown sugar, garlic powder, and chili flakes and pour over the chicken
- For the best flavor refrigerate for 20 minutes to overnight. If you don't have time continue with the next step
- Place the chicken and the marinade in a large skillet with a lid over moderate heat
- Cook covered for 20-30 minutes turning frequently until the chicken has cooked through (reached 165 degrees) and the liquid has thickened into a glaze that coats the chicken
